The Scholarship

This scholarship aims to support the next generation of designers who are committed to prioritising environmental and social sustainability. Many of the team at Ultrafabrics have completed design-based degrees, and we understand the costs of producing and exhibiting your work. The aim of this scholarship is to support with these costs.

Any undergraduate student approaching their final year of a design-based course may apply for this scholarship, but applicants pursuing textile design are preferred.

To apply, tell us about the area of design you’re interested in and how you plan to prioritise sustainability in your field. Additionally, upload a project you’ve worked on that illustrates your commitment to sustainability and innovation in design.

Forward-thinking, creative students will be the key to creating sustainable solutions in their industries as they enter the workforce.

With environmental crises growing, prioritising sustainability is crucial. The design industry is one area where innovative students can make a broad impact through their future work, creating better products and reducing their carbon footprint simultaneously.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be studying at a UK university
• Studying other business design related courses
• Must be entering into their final year of a design-based undergraduate course in Autumn 2024
• Must be on track to achieve a 2:1 or 1st
• The scholarship is open to all fields of design, but applicants on a textile design course are preferred
• Applicants should show an interest and understanding in sustainable innovations
• Be willing to talk to Ultrafabrics about your work and how the scholarship impacted you

Timelines

• Open applications: 15th April 2024
• Close Applications: 31st May 2024
• Scholars announced: August 2024
