The Scholarship:
Calyx Private Office LLP is proud to offer a scholarship for an individual that demonstrates high academic ability or potential, particularly those from low-income households.
The scholarship is in memory of our ex-colleague, Liam Hughes who sadly passed away in June 2023. This scholarship aims to support a student pursuing a BA in Philosophy or Economics at University.
What’s on offer?
- £5,000 per year of study
Requirements:
- Undertaking a 3-year BA in Philosophy or Economics
- Eligible to pay UK domestic tuition fees
- From a lower socio-economic background (as defined by the Social Mobility Commission)
- Must be on track to achieve a 2:1 grade in their current year of study, with proof available upon request
What do we want to hear about you?
As part of the scholarship application, you will be asked to provide a personal statement (500-1,000 words) detailing:
- Your passion for Philosophy or Economics/Finance.
- Your academic and career aspirations.
- How will this scholarship support you in achieving your longer-term educational and career goals?
- Any challenges you have faced in your personal or educational journey and how you have overcome it.
Timelines:
- Applications open: 15 Oct 2025
- Applications close: 11 January 2026
- Shortlisted applicants notified: Week commencing 02 February 2026
- Successful student notified: Week commencing 23 February 2026
